IT'S OFFICIAL!

I have a house.

We signed papers and get the keys tomorrow.

Now the important question is, what should I name the house?

Shall we take a tour?

Let's.

Here's my new front door:

Isn't she pretty?

And my entry way:

Going up the stairs goes to the main part of the house, but my part of it will be to the right.

This is the laundry closet where the new washer and dryer have already been installed by the previous owners.

I CAN'T WAIT TO DO LAUNDRY, said no one ever.

And that's my living room! Staged by the realtors.

I don't have taste like that.

I'm actually not sure what my tastes are, but I guess we'll find out as I start decorating my place.

It's going to be bare for a while because I've decided to live a minimalist lifestyle.

Or, I'm poor and don't have the money to buy furniture.

Ya know?

But, I'm really excited about the little patio right outside the living room.

And, of course, the bedroom.

It's just going to be ALL bed. A queen-sized bed so that Piglet and I stop fighting over bedspace.

My bathroom, oh my buddha, my bathroom. The past two apartments that I've lived in had not quite optimal bathrooms in terms of setup and cleanliness (no matter how hard I cleaned) so I am ECSTATIC to have a brand new bathroom that no one's ever used before.

I'm going to roll around in that bathroom and feel like a million bucks.

It's the little things in life.

Speaking of little things, I'll have a little garage where I can park my car!

I've never had my own garage before and I can't wait to not ever have to look for street parking ever again.

Is this what "MAKING IT" means???

I THINK SO.

This is the deck that I'm super excited to sit out on every morning while I eat breakfast and play with Piglet before work.

Along with the yard.

I've been waiting for a yard to call my own so that I can play and train with Piglet at home.

I CAN'T WAIT.

And there you have it.

My new house.

What shall I call her?

I'm thinking: Sugar Daddy.

So, I can say things like:

"Can't wait to go home to Sugar Daddy."

"Having a Sugar Daddy costs me thousands of dollars a month."

"Yeah, the rent on my Sugar Daddy is really paying off."

IT'S OFFICIAL, I HAVE A SUGAR DADDY!

Oops, I did it again

I disappeared.

After promising I wouldn't.

But, I've been house-hunting. Again.

Yes, again.

Hopefully, this will be the last time I move for a very, very long time.

Because this is what life has felt like for the past few months:

Thank you, Piglet, for being my metaphor.

The Same Mistake

I keep making the same mistake.

Announcing to the world that I'm back to blogging, then making the decision to move right afterwards and disappearing.

In 2017, I said I was back and introduced Piglet.

Then decided to move across the country to San Francisco.

Piglet riding shotgun as we drove from NYC to SF.

It's why it took me 16 months to get back to blogging.

Settling into our new life, developing new habits, working long hours at a job (me), and playing all day at the beach (Piglet) took us 16 months to figure out.

But we did and I promised myself I'd get back to blogging.

And I announced it to the world.

And then I decided to move again (albeit just apartments this time).

After a frantic apartment search, Piglet and I changed neighborhoods and moved into a one bedroom apartment with a den and a yard for much less rent than I was paying for a small studio in a "more desirable" neighborhood. And we're much happier for it.

So really, I am back to writing, blogging, and maybe even drawing and photographing.

Now let's hope I don't decide to move again and disappear for awhile.

Sixteen Months

I can't believe it's been almost 16 months since I last posted. It definitely doesn't feel like 16 months have passed.

I've missed this.

My own space to be creative.

And perhaps a place to gush about Piglet.

I thought I'd be back here sooner, but adopting Piglet meant focusing on her for a little while.

Time management was also a skill I had to relearn.

I wonder if this is what parents of human puppies go through?

I hope to blog more, to flex my writing skills, and mayhap, to learn how to be a writer.

Hello, friends.
